Pine

One of the most common softwoods. The grain is straight with an even, medium texture. The heartwood is a light in color, from a creamy white to light brown, sometimes with a slightly reddish hue. Color tends to darken with age. As a softwood it is lightweight and pliable — easy to sand and stain.
